selfoss is great!
Hi there, I really like Selfoss! I use it daily and find it a great replacement for Google Reader. I'm running 2.7 now and will keep current with all the new releases.
I have just one feature request: some easier options to mark an article as read. Here are some examples:
(1) provide an option to mark an article read just by hovering over it using javascript... this is the default behavior in Google Reader. This obviously wouldn't work on touchscreen devices like an iPad, since there's no concept of hovering, but would work fine on a Mac/PC. This would be a great on/off toggle option. And if the option is on and the device is a touchscreen device, you could set the "mark all as read" to just mark the currently showing page as read, and not the entire set of articles in the category. This would be a great option for people with hundreds or thousands of unread articles in a category, so we can read a set of articles page-by-page, mark the page read, and then move on to the next set of articles.
(2) Option to mark the article as read when I've launched the original article in a new window. This one seems logical to me. It's strange that today I can expand an article and read its summary in Selfoss, then launch the article's on its original website, but then I still have to manually mark the article as read when I get back to Selfoss.
The reason I'd like to see the above options is because I have some tags with 1,000+ unread articles. These are busy sites like Wired and Ars Technica. So I don't want to mark them all as read, but I do want to get through the entire list more quickly. Marking every single article as read takes me a very long time to get through the list.
Thanks for creating Selfoss!!!
